Similarities to Poem 25 … but whereas that took place in Miramar this is Ruahine St beside Hataitai Park …

Kids

These kids run fast
      one second
and they hit the centre traffic island
      another
and they're on the grass
      one more
halfway up the green hill of the park

soon they'll be old saying
     remember when we almost got run over
     crossing that road
                                           down there?
