Poem 51
Break-up astrophysics … and persistence of vision as applied to absence …
… reading all these poems back I see space (ie. the universe) is a recurring theme for me … along with cats, bees, the seasons, early evening, death, love in the specific and in the general …
Dark Matter
You've gone away from me at however many million miles makes light speed stars clanging through your curls like railway lines your eyes two of these holes we've heard so much about but in reverse they've pushed you right away or wrong away whichever matter/doesn't matter way you look at it you went so fast I could still see you here like some bizarre bedroom scene glimpsed halfway down a fatal plunge now a planet cuts me off like a bus I push my fingers on my eyes and colour you all sorts before your shadow breaks its outline and goes everywhere … cold over this end of the universe without the right change another coin for the sun
