Poem 150

Sometimes life looks like this …

( if I was to start picking things out I’d have to quote the whole poem … I think all the images here are visual vivid and strong … )

Condition Of The Heart

Light drains across the sky
days lego
           one to the other
a thin slice of dream
caught in the clip
feel the jellimeat softness of your
     brain
ripening your body being torn to
tassellated strips
darkness opens its mouth
down to the horizon
the hydrogen sunrise of death
waiting on the waterline
your voice is a hinge
feet dead in your shoes
hardbacked hands rolling dried flowers
into white paper

     how slow it is
     this process

breaking your own heart
